Read-Only USB custom Policy for Windows XP using Domain GPO.

HI, back again to the blog. This time I have been doing research for the ‘GROUP POLICY EDITOR’ for server 2008 R2 and Server 2012. During my research I found that ‘GPMC’ is a quite vast tool and can control almost everything of the system on AD. Here I have created a custom group policy to block the USB drive.

Some of you may ask why I need to create USB drive although I do have already a policy on the server to block USB. But if you read this policy carefully you will find out that this policy is for only the OS which are higher version than Windows Vista (i.e. Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8). But if someone ask you for Windows XP than??? What will you do?? If someone ask you for make a read-only policy for USB on windows XP. What will you do again?? So Simply I have created a custom Policy that can be compatible with windows XP or any other Windows Platform OS. Copy this code, Paste on notepad and save it in the extension of ‘.adm’.

[HOW TO] Disable default share on workstations.

Recently I have been working with a certain project of Active Directory and working on the centralized system. After completing my work over there I face one issue of Default share. During my implementation I have provided full control Permission to the Authenticated user on the local Drives, which cause me issue of peeking up other’s default share. i.e. one users can easily access the local drives of other machine using network share path i.e. \computername or IP c$ or d$ or any drive path.

This is Aerrow again back to the blogging and back to the server again …. on the server when we make it ready and up there is always the problem of adding users with all the required attributes… and that also on the bulk mode ….. but the problem is how do we do this??? how do we know what are the require attributes and how do we find it out. so let us move with hands on lab first let us know what are require for the attributes to be filled while making the bulk upload of the users. Once the required things are collected now we find out what are the attributes that are named for the collected DATA .

[FIX] WDS PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout

Recently, I was deploying Windows 7 on my College Lab. Previously the WDS function was working perfectly on server and deploying Client OS on the machines, but later on suddenly it stopped to worked. It started to give the issue with “TFTP open timeout”.  Now the problem began to me. I tried different option but still it didn’t work but finally at last after 1 hour of struggle i found out the casue. This can be caused by the DNS service binding to WDS UDP ports on the server.  This will generally occur after security update MS08-037 is installed on the server.
